The first sightings of the Blue Phanom occurred in the late 1980's, when it was reported that a super-human type being, with only a pair of light blue Mothercare y-fronts to protect his identity, was ridding the world of evil, helping animals in distress and beating the living poop out of anyone caught waxing coping. The Phanom name, derived from a shortened version of the word Phantom, was invented by 'Ige' following the first ever sighting of the elusive superhero in the Tri-Town area. Although sightings have been rare, enthusiasts, known as 'Phanaholics', have snapped an array of photographs - some of which appear here as a bluephanom.com exclusive.
Often imitated, never replicated, the Phanom has remained the incumbent superhero of the people. This heroic, blue-panted crime fighter is truly a 'Phanomenon' of our modern age.
